Inauguration of Daily Annadasoha at Shri Tegginamatha Harapanhalli.
Annadasoha which was in practice was stoped long ago was started again by His Holiness Shri Sha|| Bhra|| Varasadyojatha Swamiji at Tegginamatha, this was the long standing demand of the devotees of Shrimatha. His Holiness has given a new life to Annadasoha.
There were fort mathas during the period of keladi Nayaka dynasty doing religious activities but Tegginamatha, then called Hirematha which is the only matha which has been in existence for centuries, doing religious and cultural activities.
During the reign of keladi Somashekhara Nayaka the Hirematha was established within the castle, but after its destruction Hirematha was shifted to Teggina area (pit area) hence in course of time, Hirematha began to be called as Tegginamatha.
During the period of Lingaikya Sha|| Bhra|| Chandramoulishwara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji there used to be daily Annadasoha at the Tegginamatha to the hundreds of devotees, but in course time Annadasoha was stopped because of financial problems.
But now Annadasoha has been started. In order to run Dasoha, four acres of paddy land has been purchased and Rs. 19 lakhs has been deposited in the bank, the interest, from the bank will be deposited and rent collected from the shops belonging to Shrimath will be utilised to run Dasoha successfuly.
To begin with 25 students studying in Polytechnic and PUC have been provided with free boarding and hostel facilities. The students who are interested in studying in Vedas are given free coaching. The devotees and the employees of Shrimatha are also allowed to have Annadasoha everyday.
After inaugurating the Annadasoha programme the Secretary of Tegginamatha. Shri T. M. Chandrashekharayya said on the eve of 75th birth annaiversary of Shri Lingaikya Sha|| Bhra|| Chandramoulishwara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji 75 social service activities have been planned to be carried out Nityannadasoha is one of them. It was the will and wish of Sha|| Bhra|| Chandramoulishwara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji to restart Nityannadasoha at the Shrimatha. The present Swamiji Shri Sha|| Bhra|| Varasadyojatha Swamiji has full filled his will and wish of Holiness Shri Lingaikya Sha|| Bhra|| Chandramoulishwara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji.
Tegginamath Grameena Vikasa Trust
Tegginamath Grameena Vikasa Trust is a registered body which came into being on 16-2-2000. It is a forum for social and rural development. It has also been constituted with a broader outlook to sponsor Philanthropic and humanitarian works. Shri Chandramoulishwara Swamiji has been playing a dynamic role as the president of trust with devoted and spirited members for the upliftment of the rural mass. The various schemes undertaken by the trust are, construction of kalyana mantaps (Samuday Bhavans) in villages, organizing mass marriages, distribution of free sites for the construction of Ashraya houses, sponsoring free health camps, social forestry and cultivation of herbal gardens. Relief and Rehabilitation works for victims, sponsoring tournament at various levels for the rural youths and establishment of Gurukula on the modern lines to revive and encourage traditional learning and training in job-oriented courses.
Mass Marriage In The Premises Of Tegginamath
One of the greatest contributions Tegginamath Grameena Vikas Trust to the society is arranging mass marriage for the economically backward communities in the premises of Tegginamath Hundreds of newly married couples enter into Gruhastashrama with the blessings of Shri Chandramoulishwara Swamiji brides and grooms different caste and creed tie the nupital knot (mangalasuthra) The mass marriages are arranged in a grand manner every year in the month of May in the premises of Shri Matha. Shri Tegginamath provides Mangalasuthra, new cloths and other essentials to every new pairs free of cost required for the occasion. The feast is arranged for those assembled on the occasion.
The mass marriages conducted by Tegginamath Grameena Vikas Trust are a boon to the economically weaker sections.
Construction Of Kalyana Mantaps In Rural Areas
One of the ambitious schemes of Tegginamath Grameena Vikasa Trust is construction of kalyana mantap in rural areas so as to make them available for economically weaker communities to conduct weddings ceremonies, social and religious functions. Nowadays the Kalyana Mantaps are available in cities only which are not affordable to the poor and the downtrodden to conduct such ceremonies and functions.
Sites For Construction Of Ashraya House Under Goverment Housing Scheme
Tegginamath Grameena Vikas Trust has embarked upon a scheme to provide sites free of cost to the under privileged as to enable them to construct the houses on these sites under government housing scheme a roof over one’s heal Sogi is a backward village to Hadagali Tq. The trust has purchased 4 acres of land in this village with a purpose to provide sites to the homeless. The plot of land was converted into more than 168 sites. The poorest among the poor were identified as beneficiares and sites were distributed to construct Ashraya Houses.
Swamiji being rich heart is known for his compassion and kindness towards the poor and the needy For decades he has been actively involved for the welfare of the under privileged. His services to the under privileged stems from his faith on alleviating poverty granting a rightful place for the weaker section of the society. The beneficiaries at Sogi are grateful to swamiji for his charitable work of providing sites for the homeless. They remember swamiji as Dayanidhi. Speaking on the occasion the chief guest Shri M.P. Prakash MLC said he was greatly pleased to be on the occasion and lauded Tegginamath Grameena Vikas Trusts’ commendable job of providing free sites for the homeless. He assured that all the basic facilities will be provided to the upcoming Shri Chandramoulishwara Nagara at Sogi under Navagrama Project. A Koshappa Ex president of the Sogi Grama Panchayath has taken a great interest in the construction of Shri Chadramoulishwara Nagar which is going to be a model of its kind in this village.
Harapuri Tegginamatha Siddhanthi Panchanga
Panchanga means the constitution of Thithi, Vara, Nakshatra, Karana and Yoga. “Harapuri Tegginamatha Siddhanthi Panchanga’’ became very popular in Karnataka. It was managed by ths scholar, astrologer Shri Channaveera Shastri from 1915 to 1925 then this work was continued by Hayatha Shastriji. Shri Hayatha Shastriji started “Bharatha Jyothishya Vaidika Dharmartha Pathashala.”
Thus it was the symbol of Hindu, Muslim emotional integration. Hayatha Saheb Shastriji was the great devotee of Late Shri Sha|| Bhra|| Chandrashekhara Shivacharya mahaswamiji. Tegginamath Panchanga is being published every year which helps the people of all communities in Karnataka and this is the great achievement. Even now people believe that Tegginamatha panchanga and Ontikoppalada Panchanga suppose to be best Panchanga in Karnataka.
Shri Tegginamatha Samsthana Harapanhalli Mahashivaratri Jagarane
With the blessings of His Holiness Lingaikya Sha|| Bhra|| Chandrashekhara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji & Lingaikya Sha|| Bhra|| Chandramoulishwara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji Tegginamath and with the collaboration of Grameen Vikasa Trust (R) Harapanahalli and Kannada and Sanskrit Unit Davanagere jointly Shri Matha has been organising Mahashivaratri Jagarane or wakefulness every year over many years in Tegginamatha Harapanahalli.
On the eve of Mahashivaratri there will be Abhishekha to the Kartru Gaddige and Bilwarchana, Mahamangalarthi then distribution of Prasada to the devotees are being organised every year. In addition to it, achievers in various walks of Harapanahalli Tq. will be given to them Tegginamatha Shri Award.
Since 2001 in the benign presence of Lingaikya Shri, Sha|| Bhra|| Chandramoulishwara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji and with the Presidentship of Shri T.M. Chandrashekharayya the Secretary of Shri Tegginamatha now in the holy presence of new swamiji Sha|| Bhra|| Varasadyojatha Swamiji, various cultural functions are being organised to promote literary and cultural education among people.
